Opposite Lock started in Australia four decades ago, set up by people who spent their weekends off the tar and wanted better gear than they could buy. What began as a small range of off-road accessories grew into a brand that now operates well beyond Australia.
The South African operation distributes premium 4×4 brands across the region — South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique — and fits them through a network of independently owned centres. The principle has not changed: the right part for the vehicle, fitted properly, backed locally.
Tough Dog has been building 4WD suspension for 35 years, with research and development run out of Sydney and more than a century of combined experience behind the team. The foam cell shock range is what most people know them for, and it is built for the kind of corrugations that destroy ordinary shocks.
The LA Sport partnership, in place since August 2019, added suspension kits, bullbars, protection gear, rear bumpers, winches, towbars and snorkels to the range. These are designed and developed in South Africa, for South African conditions and local vehicle specifications.
We bring new brands into the range every six months. If there is something you need that is not on the site yet, ask — a lot of what we supply never makes it onto a shelf.
